For our second anniversary, we booked a short weekend break in Kendal, Lake District. We stayed in the small town of Kendal, visiting quality, local restaurant 2 Sisters for breakfast before getting the ferry across Lake Windermere and walking around Hawkshead and Claife Heights where we saw stunning views of the lake and mountains. Then a stroll along Bowness pier and a hearty pub meal at The Albert.
Saturday morning we headed to the Lakeside aquarium and experienced the impressive steam train journey from Lakeside, past Newby Bridge and over to Haverthwaite station before returning. Our final stop was to quaint village Cartmel to pick up supplies of the infamous Sticky Toffee Pudding and try some more local produce.
