Bristol Balloon Fiesta

This Saturday we travelled over 300 miles in a day so that we could spend 7 hours at Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. I’ve wanted to visit the event for a couple of years when I discovered their twitter feed, full of beautiful pictures of hot air balloons across the Bristol skyline.

Now we’ve seen it for ourselves!

It was a beautiful day but it was still touch and go about whether the pilots would be able to fly the balloons for a mass ascent. At about 7pm we were treated as over 50 hot air balloons taking to the skies before a firework and night glow special after sunset where another dozen or more balloons lit up the night sky.

There are more photographs than I’d normally post but you’ll see why I couldn’t resist sharing them with you.
